1947年にローズ・レペットがフランスに設立したバレエシューズのブランドです。振付家の息子の助言によりダンスシューズをデザインしたことがブランドの始まりとされています。ダンサーたちに要求されるしなやかさ、快適さを実現するために、素材選びから縫製までこだわった丁寧な作りに加え、エスプリを感じる斬新なデザインを施した、バレエモチーフのタウンシューズは人々に新鮮な驚きを与えました。さらに1956年公開の映画『素直な悪女』で、主演のブリジット・バルドーがタウンシューズを履いていたことから、その名を世界中に広めたのです。その後ブリジットバルドーの要望により誕生したフラットバレリーナシューズもブームとなりました。斬新なデザインの一方で、伝統的な技術を用いて手作りされる靴は、確かなクオリティと美しさを誇り、現在も世界中のセレブリティに愛用されています。
