R.NEWBOLDIs it とは?

1994年に「Paul Smith」から派生したブランド。現在は「Paul Smith」が管理、「R.NEWBOLD」が生産する形で展開しています。1885年に創立されたアパレル工場が起源となっており、そこでは「Paul Smith」のシャツも制作されていました。コンセプトは“BORN IN BRITAIN”。英国の音楽やスポーツといったユースカルチャーのみならず、工場のルーツである“サービス(軍隊や警察などの制服)”、“ワークウェア(炭鉱夫や工員などの作業着)”、“アルチザン(1920～30年代のイギリスの作家・アーティストが着ていた服)”といった昔ながらの労働着がデザインソースになっています。そこにオリジナリティを加えた上品で味のあるデザインが特徴。シャツやカットソーなど服はシンプルなものが多いのに対し、バッグやアクセサリーといった小物はポップなデザインを多用しています。本場イギリスと日本にショップを展開しており、日本には56店舗展開。オンラインショップからも購入可能です。
