ドイツ、バイエルン州ミッテルフランケン・ヘルツォーゲンアウラハを拠地とするスポーツ用品・スポーツウェアのブランド。1924年にダスラー兄弟が靴紐の代わりにゴムの付いた革底を使用した体育館用のシューズを開発したことから始まり、1949年にアメリカライオンのピューマから「PUMA」と命名されました。サッカーの定番ブランドで、ペレやディエゴ・マラドーナ、ローター・マテウスなど、世界でもトップクラスのプレイヤーたちがスパイクを使用していたことでも有名です。2000年以降はファッション性という意味でもシューズ、バッグなどが若い女性の間で人気となり、ストリートブランドとしても定着しました。スポーツブランドとファッションデザイナーとのコラボレーションの先駆けもこの「PUMA」。ジル・サンダーに始まり、アレキサンダー・マックイーンや、ミハラ・ヤスヒロ、セルジオ・ロッシとのコラボレーションも手掛けています。
