1953年にデザイナーのピエール・カルダンがパリでスタートさせたブランド。アバンギャルドなスタイルと宇宙時代的なデザインで、オートクチュール界に新風を巻き起こし、1960～70年代に一世を風靡しました。幾何学模様や形を好む彼の作品は、女性的な形状を無視することや実用的ではないものも多かったのが話題に。デザインテーマは、永遠で常に未来に向けて語り続けるもの。4つ代表的なメッセージは「服は動く彫刻である」「円形ラインは宇宙へ無限に繋がる」「フォルムがリアルなものになるには、バランスとラインが最も重要である」「モードは生活を取り巻く全てをデザインする」。この言葉に裏付けられたエレガントでパリシックな作品を発信しています。特にベルトが人気。
