「mean」は旅や自然、音楽を想起させるナチュラル志向のブランドで、そこにデザイナーの観点をデザインに融合することをモットーにしています。名前の「mean」は“意味する”の意。“意味”にこだわった服作りをしたいとの想いが由来となっています。2005年にメンズラインをスタート。2008年にはレディスラインも展開し、カジュアルやナチュラルテイストを支持するファッション感度の高い男女から人気を集めています。デザイナーの丹羽俊介は映画（ストーリー）や音楽からインスピレーションを得た創作を心がけており、モノとしての服ではなく、シーンや音楽の一部としての服を表現しています。さまざまなカルチャーを織り交ぜた世界感は、オリジナリティ溢れるムードを醸し出しています。
