MARC JACOBSIs it とは?

1986年に創立のニューヨークブランド。網タイツとミニスカートにサテンのジャケットやラバーコートというようなヨーロッパ的な独特の世界観で「グランジスタイルの教祖」といわれています。1994年の初のコレクションでは、当時大人気のスーパーモデル、ナオミ・キャンベルやリンダ・エヴァンジェリスタなどがノーギャラで出演して話題になりました。また、2001年には「マークbyマーク・ジェイコブス」を立ち上げ、若者たちから絶大な人気を誇り地位を確立。一方で、マーク・ジェイコブスは、ルイヴィトンのクリエイティブデザイナーを務め、初のプレタポルテを手がけました。ちなみに彼は、ファッション業界における優秀な功績を称えて新人デザイナーに贈られる米国ファッションデザイナー協会（CFDA）のペリー・エリス賞を最年少で受賞するなど、輝かしい功績の持ち主。
