LeeIs it とは?

「Lee」は、アメリカ3大ジーンズのひとつとして有名なブランド。1889年にアメリカ、カンザスでヘンリー・デヴィッド・リーが”設立。1911年に自社工場での生産が始まり、1926年になるとキャラクター“バディ・リー”が誕生しました。日本に上陸したのは1976年で、“Lee RIDERS”をはじめとする様々な製品が紹介されました。今や定番のブーツカット・ジーンズを最初に広めたのも「Lee」。バックポケットの下部が丸くなっている形が特徴で、ステッチ（レイジーS）は馬の口を横から見た形という説が有力です。また、ジーンズにジッパーを導入した初めてのメーカーとしても名を馳せています。有名な製品は、前述の牛革に「Lee」の焼き印を押したラベルの“Lee RIDERS”シリーズやウエスタン・スタイルのスリムジャケット“101Ｊ”など。また、“101Z” はアメリカを代表する往年の俳優、ジェームズ・ディーンが映画の劇中や私生活で愛用したことでも有名です。
