1892年、アメリカ・シカゴでミルトン・フローシャイムとその父、シグムンドが創設したブランド。アメリカのトラッドシューズを作り続ける名門として名を馳せた、老舗ブランドとして知られています。アメリカではドレスからカジュアルまで幅広いシーンに合わせたラインナップを展開。日本では“ユーマ”の名を持つ、甲からつま先への美しい曲線がコブラの頭を連想させるモデルが有名。“コブラヴァンプ”の通称で親しまれるこのシューズは1960年代にブレイクし、アイビーリーガーたちの定番靴として人気を得ました。その後1980年代後期から1990年代前期にかけてさらにその人気が高まり、多くの人に認知されるようになりました。現在は生産拠点をインドに移し、日本では主にビームスで取り扱っています。素足でも優しい足当たりではき心地が良い革靴は、コンサバにもカジュアルにも合う、他とは一線を画すシューズとして人気があります。
