CONVERSEIs it とは?

スニーカーの定番として世界的に知られる、アメリカ発のシューズブランドです。1908年にコンバース・ラバー・カンパニーを設立し、深い森や湿地帯の続くマサチューセッツ州の環境に適応する、雨や雪に強いラバーシューズの製造を開始しました。その後、通年販売できる商品の必要性から、当時考案されたばかりのスポーツ「バスケットボール」の専用シューズを開発。これがコンバースの代表的な「オールスター」です。またバトミントンのワールドチャンピオンシップを獲得したジャック・パーセルを迎え誕生した「ジャックパーセル」、テニス専用のシューズとして登場した「スキップグリップ」など、機能性とデザイン性を兼ね備えたアイテムは、今もなお、当時のモデルと変わらないフォルムとカラーバリエーションの拡大で親しまれています。またデザイン性に富んだキッズライン、スポーツアイテムを中心としたバッグなどもラインナップ。2011年5月より新アパレルラインもスタートしました。
