ClarksIs it とは?

「Clarks」は、デザイン性だけでなく履きやすさと快適さにもこだわり、シューズに“カジュアル”や“コンフォート”という概念をもたらしたブランド。1825年、サイラスとジェームスのクラーク兄弟がイングランド南西部の小さな町、ストリートで小規模の靴工場を設立したのが「clarks」の歴史の始まりです。最初の商品は毛付きのシープスキンのスリッパ。当時はその奇妙なデザインに多くの人が衝撃を受けたものの、その履き心地の良さはすぐに評判になりました。そして、その後もカジュアルシューズの代名詞ともいえるデザートブーツやワラビーといった、斬新でコンフォタブルなシューズを次々と世に送り出してきました。1960年代になると国内だけにとどまらず、アメリカやオーストラリア、ニュージーランド、南アフリカと市場を拡大。今やカジュアルシューズの原点とされるインターナショナルブランドに成長しています。
