1856年、トーマス・バーバリーによって創立されたイギリスを代表するブランド。1912年、第一次世界大戦時中の英国陸海軍にトレンチコートが正式採用された後、1919年にコート・ジャケット部門の英国御用達になりました。また、1924年には、コートの裏地になっていたデザインを「バーバリ・チェック」として宣伝して大ブームに。トレンチコートは、作家のコナン・ドイル、女優のキャサリン・ヘプバーン、英元首相ウィンストン・チャーチル、米元首相ジョージ・ブッシュなど数々の有名人が愛用していました。日本では、1915年に輸入が開始されて2000年に銀座へ初のフラッグシップショップがオープン。また、18歳～25歳の女性をターゲットに、バーバリーの伝統にトレンドを融合させたクラシックスタイルの「バーバリー・ブルーレーベル」、百貨店向けヤングキャラクターズブランドの「バーバリー・ブラックレーベル」は三陽商会が企画した日本独自のレーベルです。
