Athena New YorkIs it とは?

1996年にデザイナー、大田裕子がNYで立ち上げたブランド。メインアイテムは帽子で、彼女が以前に学んだインテリアやアクセサリーのデザイン経験がコレクションに息づいています。花や果物、自然の風景などからインスピレーションを受けたモチーフが多く、ナチュラルでシンプルながら洗練された雰囲気が魅力。当初はオーダーメイドのみであったものの、後にセレクトショップや帽子専門店でも展開されるようになりました。2004年の帰国後は日本のセレクトショップにもアイテムが並び、デザイン性や肌になじむ素材感、使い心地のよさが多くの女性の支持を集めています。帽子のイメージにネームをシーズンごとに付けており、なかでも“Risako”と名付けられた大きくインパクトのあるリボンが特徴のストローハットは、NY時代から根強い人気を誇っています。現在ではさまざまなコラボレーションや共同プロジェクトも手掛けており、Tシャツやアクセサリーなどカテゴリーの幅も拡大中。
